We here at the ARCblog are really impressed with the cameras that Blackmagic Design has been rolling out! Both the Cinema Camera and the new Pocket Cinema Camera are capable of creating such amazing images. Even so, these are still v. 1 cameras that have some quirks.
While we were putting the Pocket Cinema Camera through its paces, one of the things we noticed was the so-called Black Hole Sun effect. When we catch the sun directly in the frame a black spot shows up in the middle of the brightest part.

Blackmagic Design was made aware of the issue and today released a firmware fix.
For those of you who have already received your cameras make sure to upgrade the latest firmware v1.4.2
