I’ll admit, I used to be one of those film school nuts that thought digital could never live up to film stock. I thought film would always be the way to go because of its “superior” in image quality. Don’t get me wrong, I still like shooting with film every once in a while. But its more for nostalgia than anything else these days.
The truth is, up until a few years ago digital just wasn’t “there” yet. An even bigger truth now is that digital has surprised me in ways I never expected it would with footage like this captured with the Sony A7s:
As you can see it does get a bit noisy passed the 102400 mark but it’s still astonishing how far this camera can go.
